Mission & Founder Bio

Our Mission
Our mission at carrOT is to:

Provide increased access to feeding therapy for children, especially in rural communities, through virtual services and affordable clinical education to OT practitioners.

Encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration for children who receive therapy services in multiple settings from many providers.

Empower parents and caregivers through family-centered intervention and collaboration.

Share valuable resources with families, children, and occupational therapy practitioners.
About Our Founder
First and foremost, Danielle is a mom. All moms wear many hats, and Danielle relates as a "twin mom" and "NICU mama". She understands the time constraints in our daily lives, and the burden of worry that many moms carry in hopes to give their children the best possible resources to grow and develop.

Danielle's professional beginnings grew from world-renowned hospital systems, having trained and worked at 2 of America’s top 3 institutions! The harsh reality that these amazing programs aren't available in everyone's backyard, led to the development of carrOT. While the mission is vast, in it's simplicity, the goal is to provide advanced practice care to children everywhere! This is done through virtual therapy and education to clinicians working in rural communities.

Danielle is Board Certified in Pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association, and is a Certified Educator of Infant Massage. She volunteers for the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association and Feeding Matters (an advocacy agency stationed in Phoenix, AZ). Danielle has a diverse resume with continuing education in many areas of practice, but is most passionate about feeding. Her feeding training includes the SOS Approach to Feeding, Food Chaining, Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Treatment, Mealtime Miseries and CanEAT. She uses a play-based and sensory-based approach, with a sprinkle of behavioral intervention where appropriate.
